Sail Away: Harbour Brewing Co. MTB

Our third Meet the Brewer event is with a relatively new brewery (hang on a minute, almost all contemporary breweries are relatively new?) and we’re very pleased and proud to be the venue for their first birthday. It’s Harbour Brewing Co. based down in sunny Cornwall, which is near France. And Wales.

In their first year Harbour have managed to establish a core range of solid tasty beers but have also pushed the boundaries with more experimental styles including an Imperial Chocolate Stout, a barrel aged Porter, and a series of collaborations with the equally innovative Arbor.

The biggie though, the game changer, is their 20%+ Iced Pale Ale. We were lucky enough to be given one of three trial bottles on our opening night and this really is a cracker. It came in a very cool fully black wax covered bottle and the contents smelt and tasted of an IPA. Yes a strong one, but it tasted great. Eddie (makes pretty pictures) and Rhys (makes great beer) contacted the ice wine kings in Canada and asked for advice on temperatures to ensure they got the right flavour as well as the gravity. Its a huge beer, a total novelty, but one that works.

Well, we will be launching the beer and will have the only keg being produced of this beer on for Harbours MTB on January 22nd and the 23rd. We are running two because demand was so high we coerced the guys in to adding a second date.

Eddie and Rhys will also be bringing along their latest collab, this time with Bristol Beer Factory plus a new Pale Ale No. 3, a Jack Daniels aged pale ale with chilli in cask (the only one) and a bunch of cool stuff the guys have been saving up especially for both events.

All tickets for both nights are £20 per head and usual you’ll get a glass to keep, branded with our logo and theirs, a flight and tutored tasting from the guys from the brewery and food from our chef cooked especially for the night and made with beer from the brewery.

Tickets can be bought Here for Tuesday 22nd
and Here for Wednesday 23rd

Please be aware, and this isn’t just sales guff, that these nights have been selling out in a matter of days so if you faff about you might miss out.

Our next MTB is February 27th with the Wildly Different, Wild Beer Co. Tickets for that event will go on sale on January 24th. Then in March we have the indomitable Kernel Brewery visiting and brewing on our kit.
